how early can my child start guitar lessons?

my son is 4 in October and has shown a very keen interest in guitar for some time. We bought him a ukalelea and he plays along when his father plays his guitar. We have bought him a 1/4 size electric and put it away, any ideas on when is a good time to begin lessons?????

The fact your husband plays will be a major factor. Kids always want to emulate their parents and the fact that Dad knows chords…. He's practically playing already.

Encourage him to play with Dad and have Dad show him how to strum chords along with him.

Once the tone sets in him and he gets fingering down..

Bob's yer Uncle.

Start him asap..

If he is interested now, go for it. Young children absorb new things very quickly and it will give him a further bond with his Dad.

I started playing piano at the age of 4 and had lessons until I left school – I now teach…My son started playing guitar when he was 7 and just love it, wish he had started earlier…
