Get Piano Lesson 1 (Part Three) Staccato Exercises

This 3rd video for Get Piano Lesson 1 really forces you to play the following exercises correctly. This time, you must play each piano note with short, controlled bursts while each finger works independently of one another to control the spacing and volume level of the notes played. There’s no room for sloppy piano playing here. Want more information on this staccato fingering technique? I always think its better to use weighted keys instead of non-weigthed. You need the extra pressures against your fingers as your playing staccato piano exercises. Otherwise your fingers may get used to the “flimsy keys” and get fatigued when you play an actual piano.

Do you think staccato exercises have as much merit when playing with lighter keys like on a keyboard? I still do them but sometimes it seems that speed and stretching exercises strengthen my fingers a little more
