How can I improve my singing without attending voice lessons?
I can't afford one, thanks
Ehhh, I don't think so… You will not improve your singing without the adequate technique… No improvement without a teacher.
Bad habits, wrong technique and Wrong use or abuse of the vocal instrument could cause serious damage in the vocal chords.

Practice. Get the scales and a plain old tuner, and practice, practice, practice.

Practice better breathing —– apparently you should sing from your diaphragm, not your stomach.

A pitch pipe. A metronome. Vocalise, vocalise, vocalise. Stand up straight, breath with your belly, open your throat. Let it vibrate through your head and sinuses.
Look on the internet, you might be able to find instructions with illustrations.
Voice lessons really do help, though.

Although you'd most benefit from voice lessons, you can practice on your own. Don't strain your vocal chords using your throat to sing. Sing with the air from your diaphragm. And, like another person said on here, there are probably self-voice lesson instructions on the net or in a book somewhere.

Join a community choir or a church choir. The director will give you some good tips on vocal practice.
